Cavs win, earn #2 seed in East

Coming into the final four games of the NBA season, the Cleveland Cavaliers needed to go 4-0 with the Chicago Bulls losing at least one game in order for the Cavs to gain the Eastern Conference's #2 seed. As both teams went 3-0 into the final night of the NBA season, not many thought the Bulls would stumble @ New Jersey. But stumble Chicago did as the Cavs beat Milwaukee and the Bulls fell @ New Jersey, giving the Cavs (50-32) a match-up with the Washington Wizards (41-41) in the first round of the 2007 NBA Playoffs. Reds, Indians start season strong

Ohio baseball is off to a strong start through Saturday's games. The Cincinnati Reds have begun the season 4-1 after taking 2 of 3 from the Cubs and winning the first two from Pittsburgh in the weekend series in Cincinnati. Adam Dunn leads the Reds with 3 HR and 6 RBI and Aaron Harang has already picked up two wins for Cincinnati. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Indians are 2-1, and should be 3-1. Some questionable decision-making by the unpiring crew on Friday cancelled the Indians game with the Mariners at Jacobs Field in Cleveland. With the Indians up 4-0 and one out away from an official game the umps called the game. Even without the Friday win and the snowed-out Saturday double-header, the Tribe is 2-1 and led by Grady Sizemore's 3 HR.

Sunday will feature the Reds at 1:15 against the Pirates with Cincinnati looking for a sweep. Meanwhile the Indians will play a traditional double-header with Seattle, weather permitting.

Check out the great selection of MLB apparel, hats & gear online at DFN Sports. DFN Sports has all of the best Cleveland Indians jerseys & styles of Cincinnati Reds hats you could want, and check out the selection of MLB Fathead wall graphic posters.

Indians get snowed out; MLB proves incompetence

One pitch away from making it an official game today, the Cleveland Indians home-opener against the Seattle Mariners was snowed out today. With Cleveland leading 4-0 in the top of the 5th and Paul Byrd set to pick up a win, the umpires delayed the game again and later postponed the game until Saturday afternoon at 1 pm as part of a day-night doubleheader. Lucky for the fans their tickets will be redeemable on Saturday for the early game, and for those of us at home who still do not have SportsTime Ohio, the game will be broadcast on local TV. But seriously, who the heck is running this dog and pony show that is Major League baseball. Come on Bud Selig, step up to the plate. How do you let your umpires call a game that is literally one out, and possibly just one pitch, away from making it an official ballgame.
